research

For my Master’s degree, I did research at the Human-Computer Interaction Group at Stanford. The HCI Group focuses on building tools for designers, enabling end-users to participate in the design process, bridging physical and digital devices, and more.

As part of my Master’s in Symbolic Systems, I researched methods for involving masses of end-users at early stages of the design process. Part of my work focused on how user-generated storyboards can provide valuable early-stage guidance for engineers and designers. This feedback can be particularly important in an open-source setting, where the development and design teams are distributed, and users come from a variety of backgrounds (and may have a variety of use cases for the software).
